Evelyn and Louis first met in 8th grade science class, where they quickly became best friends. From chatting nonstop to the occasional friendly bickering, their bond grew stronger with each passing day. This was their first ever picture together.
Throughout high school, Evelyn and Louis' friendship only deepened. By this point they were inseparable. They navigated the ups and downs of those formative years together, from late-night study sessions to school dances and everything in between. Evelyn even supported Louis by doing stats for the wrestling team. Whether they were celebrating each other's victories or offering support through the challenges, they were always there for one another. High school was full of unforgettable memories, and through it all, their bond continued to grow stronger, setting the foundation for the incredible journey that lay ahead.
Despite promising all of their closest friends, family, and even each other that they were just friends things suddenly changed after they decided to be each others date for homecoming that year. On December 29th, 2013 Louis finally asked Evelyn to be his girlfriend. From that day forward everything changes. Junior year prom (in the picture above), attending Louis' sisters color guard shows, wrestling matches, track meets, to even a trip to Europe together, they were inseparable. Graduating from Chino High together was so meaningful to them as they felt they had gone through it all together.
Evelyn and Louis from the very start of their relationship thought about things with the end in mind. They knew to be the best versions of themselves they needed to pursue the next steps of their education and careers at schools that set them up for success. That would involve Evelyn moving west to attend the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona to begin working toward her goal of becoming a Teacher, and Louis moving East to go to the University of Redlands' school of business. This was some of the toughest times in their relationship as they made succeeding in school a top priority, but Louis made frequent weekend trips to Pomona to spend time together. Throughout all of it they shared many wonderful memories in those years and earned their degrees. Evelyn would continue her Education at the University of Redlands' School of Education to get her Masters in Learning and Teaching, and Louis would begin his career working at Esri where he still works to this day.
Evelyn soon moved in with Louis as she started her Masters program and they begun preparing for the next steps in their life, get a house and get married. Evelyn began student teaching and was eventually hired as a history teacher. Through the COVID pandemic they had a lot of time to grow as a couple and learn about all the things that come with being real adults. Soon they would be blessed to find a perfect companion in their dog Harrison who has grown alongside them. It all started to feel like a dream come true.
On the day they picked up the keys to their first home together, he had one more surprise in store. After all the excitement, nerves, and anticipation of taking such a big step, there was just one thing left—he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. This was the culmination of such a long journey and so much hard work, it really felt like a dream come true. Now they are looking forward to celebrating this amazing journey with their loved ones at their wedding.
